Walking into a store in August and seeing aisles lined with notebooks, crayons, and backpacks can only mean one thing—back-to-school season is here. It’s a time for fresh starts, new goals, and classrooms filled with sharpened pencils and big dreams.

At Neuse River Homes, we wanted to capture that spirit and give back to the schools and teachers who inspire the next generation. That’s why our team headed to Walmart with a mission: purchase classroom supplies that would make a real difference for both teachers and students in our community.

Supporting Local Schools with Back-to-School Donations

As we rolled our carts down the aisles, we focused on the essentials every classroom needs: pencils, folders, notebooks, and markers. From there, we added the creative tools that fuel imagination—crayons, colored pencils, and construction paper. To top it off, we included backpacks, picturing the excitement a student would feel carrying one on their very first day of school.

This week, we were proud to deliver those supplies to Glendale-Kenly Elementary School. Handing them off wasn’t just about dropping off bags of notebooks and crayons—it was about lightening the load for teachers and helping kids start their school year with confidence and excitement.

Building Homes, Building Community

While building houses in Eastern North Carolina is what we do best, building a stronger community is what drives us. Supporting local schools through school supply donations is just one of the many ways Neuse River Homes invests in the neighborhoods where our families live, learn, and grow.

As we celebrate another back-to-school season, we’re reminded that small acts of giving can have a big impact. Together, we can create classrooms filled with opportunity, creativity, and success.

Here’s to a school year filled with learning and new beginnings—for every student who walks through those classroom doors.
